How Many Ladders Do I need?

Most people have one ladder for personal use and one for business use but only if they have a business where a ladder is a necessity. If you are only using a ladder for personal use many people get a ladder for doing odd jobs around the house that require about 10 – 14 feet of height. For smaller day to day type odd jobs around the house people sometimes get a shorter, stepladder type for times when they only need an extra foot or two of height.

If you have to get to high places, places that are over 20 or 25 feet high, an extension ladder will work well. Keep in mind if you have a business where you use ladders often you may need to purchase a commercial ladder. That would be one that is heavier duty and sturdier than a personal ladder. Typically a commercial ladder is made of stronger materials and is able to accommodate more weight. Remember, with a ladder this big it will also be heavy and will require additional rigging on your truck or van to move around to different job sites.

How many ladders you will need will depend on how many people will use ladders at the same time with your business. If you are trying to decide how many you have for personal use, usually one multi-purpose ladder will work for most people.
